A lost connection won't let you off. Our own outage won't trap you.
Ulyssify is a commitment device: it blocks the apps and sites that pull you away. Here is what happens to that blocking if your connection drops, or if Ulyssify itself ever goes down.
Two promises
A dropped connection never lets you off
Your blocking runs on your device, so a Wi-Fi blip, a lost signal, a moment when your device can't reach us, or even blocking Ulyssify's servers on your own router, changes nothing: your blocks stay exactly as you left them.
If we're truly down, blocking pauses on its own
If Beacon confirms Ulyssify is genuinely down, your blocking pauses on its own until we're back. We won't hold your commitment hostage to our own failure, and you never have to do anything.
A separate check tells a real outage apart from a Wi-Fi blip
A separate signal, which we call Beacon, lets your device tell "Ulyssify is genuinely down" apart from "your connection just hiccupped." A local glitch can never be mistaken for us being offline, so a dropped connection can never quietly unlock you.
How Beacon stays up when our servers can't
Beacon does one small job: it checks whether Ulyssify is answering and signs the result. It runs separately from our main servers, keeps no data, and is not dependent on any one cloud provider, so the failure that takes our servers down can't take Beacon down. Your device trusts its answer because every verdict is signed, so it can't be faked.
A dropped connection never lets you off, and our own outage never traps you. That's the whole promise.
